Meeting Michael

‘Meeting Michael’ is the second in an open-ended series of projects based on artists whose work I have found particularly impressive. The idea is to make something that comments on and reacts to some of the artists’ work and makes some connection with ideas or work of my own.
This project brings together Craig-Martin’s milestone conceptual piece ‘An Oak Tree’ from 1973 and the signature stripped down linear style and bright flat colours of his recent work. The time-based piece is made with the vector graphics program Affinity Designer and the video editing program final cut pro.
