Meeting Bob

For my ‘Meeting Bob’ project I have picked two of Rauschenberg’s most innovative and well-known pieces to play with. Monogram, his first ‘combine’ of 1959 and his earlier milestone erased Willem de Kooning drawing of 1953 stand out from a hugely productive life’s work.

Collage, as in the bringing together of an eclectic mix of source material, is really central to most of Rauschenberg’s work and so to make a collage about collage was a bit of a challenge.  The time-based piece here was made with the wonderful ipad app ‘Procreate’ with a bit of tweaking in Final Cut.
